Shout HELP! / Ask for Help

There are two Japanese words that mean the english word help.

Mostly the japanese schools teach the word help, in the sense to help someone do homework etc.

In Japanese its called "tetsudau" 手伝う「てつだう」
When you want someone to help you in finishing a work or help in assisting you ask them to "tetsudatte kudasai masenka", 手伝ってくださいませんか

This word comes in handy every now and then.

But when you are in danger, when you have to shout for HELP!!!, you say "tasukete kudasai" from the verb "tasukeru". 助けてください「助ける」

Example usage
彼は私の引っ越しを手伝ってくれた。
かれはわたしのひっこしをてつだってくれた。
He helped me to move.

ある日、彼は弱いカメを助けた。
あるひ、かれはよわいかめをたすけた。
One day he helped a weak turtle.
